Optimization

Optimization, when launched, is an algorithm that tries to obtain a full coverage with minimum, or at least much reduced, number of swaths. Optimization follows the swath / AOI Intersection Calculation.

The Optimization constraint applies to a given Area of Interest. It allows defining optimization criteria to cover the Area.

Optimization is launched from the menu under "Calculate". When called like this the optimization will be applied to all satellites and Areas of Interest.

You may configure any Area of Interest with a specific Optimization constraint, in which case the coverage over this area will always be applied, regardless of calling a or a action.

Optimization options can be configured in under Calculation / Optimization options ... menu

The following optimization strategies and parameters can be configured:

• Two step

• Daily-based priorities

• Ranking

• Target and coverages

 

Example case: 

Coverage of Croatia in 15 days with 18 ICEYE satellites, using Stripmap Left and Right modes, and selecting only Descending passes.
